Margaret Hobbie

I became a Realtor after a long career as a local historian. Since joining Audrey Edelman Realty USA in 1995 I have closed over 250 real estate transactions, working with both buyers and sellers in the greater Ithaca area. I earned my broker's license in 1997 and hold designations as a Certified Buyer Representative (1999), Graduate/Realtor Institute (2000), Certified Residential Specialist (2003), and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (2006).

I grew up in the Finger Lakes region and first came to Ithaca as a Cornell University freshman in 1968. After earning graduate degrees in Folklore and Museum Studies, I moved back here with my husband in 1978. Our two children are graduates of Ithaca High School, by way of Belle Sherman and Boynton.  Our daughter is a Cornell graduate and our son is a Cornell freshman.

Immediately prior to joining Audrey Edelman & Associates I worked for eleven years as Director of the Tompkins County Museum (now the History Center), and also held the posts of Tompkins County Historian and Ithaca City Historian. Years of doing research and answering questions gave me important skills that help me protect the interests of my real estate clients. Let me put that knowledge and experience to work for you.
